Trying Again

If you've experienced a miscarriage, chemical pregnancy, ectopic pregnancy, stillbirth, baby loss, or failed IVF, and are preparing for, or actively trying to conceive again, acupuncture treatment can support you, physically and emotionally, with loss acknowledged as part of that picture rather than separate from it.

Failed IVF is its own kind of loss, even without a positive test, the physical toll of the cycle, the hope invested, and the disappointment of it not working all deserve space, not just the outcome itself.

Acupuncture can support both the physical preparation and the emotional side of moving forward. Sessions may help with:

  • Supporting your body's recovery and optimising your health in preparation for trying again

  • Supporting male fertility, including sperm health, where male factor is part of the picture

  • Supporting you through actively trying, either naturally or via IVF

  • Reducing stress and anxiety

  • A calm, unrushed space to be heard

Returning to trying to conceive after a loss, whether naturally or through fertility treatment, can bring its own worries, alongside the usual physical and emotional demands of trying again. Visit my Fertility page for more on how acupuncture can support your fertility journey.

How often will I need treatment?

Your first appointment is a full consultation. During the consultation we will discuss where you are at now, what you would like to achieve from treatment, and agree a treatment plan from there.

As a general guide, weekly treatment tends to work best, as the benefits of acupuncture build cumulatively over regular sessions. But this isn't a fixed rule, if you're further along and about to start trying again, we may time sessions to your cycle instead. Wherever you are, we'll meet you there.

If you become pregnant again, I also support women through early pregnancy and beyond, particularly where anxiety follows a previous loss.

If you'd like to talk before booking, please book a free 20 minute discovery call or get in touch via email and we can take it from there.
